Good controls disappear

The best control systems are rarely noticed. The lights come on where they should. The shades move before glare becomes a problem. A room shifts naturally from morning to evening without anyone thinking about the technology behind it.

The house simply feels comfortable, intuitive, and easier to live in.

That is what we design.

The Lutron Keypad Family

Alisse

Alisse is the Lutron keypad for a wall that is part of the architecture. Hand-finished in solid brass, with a soft halo of light behind each button so it can be found in the dark and forgotten in daylight. Engrave the buttons in the room’s own language. Eleven polished, brushed and painted finishes.

Specifications

  • Two faceplate sizes
  • Up to 9 buttons
  • Square-style backbox compatible
  • QS wired

Finishes made to disappear

Metal, graphite, or glass. The keypad is the only part of the system anyone ever touches — so it is specified like hardware, not like electronics: chosen to sit with the door furniture and the joinery, and engraved in the room’s own words.

JOSH.AI

Voice control that lives inside the Lutron keypad rather than on the counter. The microphone is set into the Palladiom wallplate, so the wall keeps the buttons your family already understands and gains what a button cannot do: compound commands, a Ketra colour asked for by name, shades drawn to a position rather than open or shut. A hardware switch cuts the microphones dead. Josh is installed in the media room at our showroom.

TRUFIG

Flush mounting, with the trim taken off. The outlet, the keypad and the speaker grille all sit level with the wall and finish into it, so the eye is not led around the room by a row of white rectangles. It is the detail nobody notices, which is the point.

IPORT

IPORT turns an iPad into the control surface for the house — mounted, charged and held on the wall or the counter, rather than hunted for down the back of a sofa. Sonance-owned, and it speaks to the same Lutron system as the keypads.

Put your hand on it first

A keypad is the one part of the system you touch every day — the finish, the weight of the button, the way it catches the light. In our Ottawa showroom the Lutron keypads are installed and working — Palladiom, Palladiom with Josh.ai built into the wallplate, Alisse and Sunnata — alongside IPORT. Most people make up their minds within a few minutes.
