Privacy Policy
This policy explains what residential.fluxlighting.ca collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do. Flux Lighting Inc. is based in Ottawa, Ontario. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What you give us
When you use a form on this site, we receive what you enter: your name, email address, phone number, and your message or project details. That includes the contact form, requests for our design guides, and our newsletter sign-up. This site has no accounts and takes no payments.
What is collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records standard technical information: your IP address, browser and device, the pages you visit and the page you came from. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful. We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors move through pages, including clicks, scrolling and session recordings, so we can find and fix parts of the site that are hard to use. Our host and our security software keep server and access logs so the site stays up and attacks are blocked.
Cookies
This site uses cookies. Some are needed for it to work; others support analytics. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser and the site will still work.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry, send you the guides you asked for, arrange a showroom visit, prepare a lighting proposal, keep the site secure and free of spam, and improve the site. We don’t sell or rent your information. We don’t share it outside Flux Lighting except with the providers listed below, or where the law requires it.
Who else handles it
- Google: Analytics, for website measurement.
- Microsoft: Clarity, for understanding how pages are used, and Microsoft 365, for delivering form messages to our team.
- Mailchimp: our newsletter list.
- CleanTalk: spam filtering on forms.
- Wordfence: site security.
- Kinsta: website hosting.
Each handles information on our behalf under its own terms. Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under that country’s laws.
Marketing email
We only send newsletters and marketing email to people who have asked for them, in line with Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL). Every message has an unsubscribe link, and replying to ask us to stop works just as well.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and project correspondence while we’re working with you and for as long as it’s useful for supporting what we supplied. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable safeguards, including an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, security software and restricted access to staff who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Ask and we’ll do it, within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
When what the site collects changes, we update this policy and the date at the top of the page.
