The point of Koinè is the edge of its light. A mineral lens, made for it, gives what Luceplan calls “a broad cone of light with clearly-defined edges”. Mandalaki Studio designed it and named it after the Greek for a shared language.
About Koine
The pendant comes in five sizes, from 20 to 110 cm across, in matte black or matte white, at 2700K, 3000K or 3500K. Koinè acoustic adds a felt cap, 60% recycled, which Luceplan says reduces reverberation nearby. The acoustic version comes in 86 and 110 cm.
The wall version plugs in. Its 20 cm black reflector sits on a slim 8 mm stem, and you touch the stem to turn it on or off.
