Vibia

Vibia designs lighting to set the mood of a whole room, not just to fill a spot on the ceiling. Some of its pendants are knitted Lycra or stretched thread, and its Duo ceiling lights are lined with wood or slate. The company was born in Barcelona. We carry the full range.

A person beside three Vibia Knit pendants in different shapes, glowing through ribbed knit

Materials you want to touch

Meike Harde’s Knit is a pendant covered in stretchy Lycra, knitted in ribs: the dense ribs block the light, and the fine knit between them lets it glow all the way round. Umut Yamac’s Array stretches fine threads between metal rings, so the light passes through layers and seems to move as you walk by. We have a Knit installed in our showroom.

Vibia Duo ceiling light in graphite over a kitchen table with tall shelving

Light for low ceilings

Not every room can take a pendant. Ramos & Bassols designed Duo for surface mounting, with a metal shell outside and wood inside, now including walnut. Duo Petra lines the same form with slate, and Vibia says it was designed for rooms with low ceilings. Both are installed in our showroom, a Duo in graphite and a Duo Petra in cream, so you can see how the lining colours the light.

Vibia Rhythm rods in a wave over a dining table with orange chairs

Compositions, not single fixtures

Several Vibia collections are built to be arranged. Arik Levy’s Rhythm hangs a cascade of LED rods that turn on a central axis, from a clean line to a wave or a spiral. Wireflow draws a three-dimensional outline in thin black cable, and Match gathers slender rods tipped with points of light into a made-to-measure piece. Antoni Arola’s Flamingo separates soft diffusers from small focused lights, so one pendant does two jobs.

Vibia Meridiano wall light casting rays of light and shadow on a wall with climbing plants

Light that works on a wall or a terrace

Martín Azúa’s Dots are small glowing circles for the wall, alone or in groups, with reading and ambient versions; Dots Glass wraps the light in layers of optical glass. Outside, Meridiano casts a lattice of light and shadow across a terrace, and its floor model doubles as a side table or a seat.
