A-N-D
A-N-D makes lighting that stacks, links and repeats. Glass discs stack into a sculpture, steel arcs link into a branching line, and a slim aluminum bar hangs alone or in groups. The Vancouver studio says its collections are conceptualized, built and assembled in-house. The name stands for “A New Detail.” We represent A-N-D in Ottawa.

Fixtures, not decorations
A-N-D was founded by designers Lukas Peet and Caine Heintzman and its president, Matt Davis. Peet leads the creative direction and Heintzman the product direction, and much of Heintzman’s work is built around modules. “We make light fixtures, not decorations,” Davis told Azure. “Yes, they are decorative lights, but these are very functional objects.”
Pebble, Lobe and Contour: shapes that shift, and one that holds
Pebble pairs a large and a small blown-glass form on a machined aluminum holder. You choose the finish of each form, so two pendants side by side can be quite different. Walk around one and its shape changes. In 2026 A-N-D moved it to single-point suspension and added dim-to-warm: it gets warmer as it dims, the way a candle does. Two Pebble ceiling/wall lights are on display in our showroom. Lobe plays the same game in aluminum, with three offset oval cylinders in salt or pepper. Contour goes the other way. It’s one unbroken glass outline, and A-N-D says it keeps the same presence as a pendant, a wall light or a lamp. It comes in etched citrine, slate or glossy pearl, with hardware to match.
Column and Pace: glass that stacks
Column stacks machine mould-blown glass segments, faceted like the fluting on a classical column. Hung upright, it can fill a stairwell or a double-height entry; on its side, it can run the length of a dining table. We have one installed in our Ottawa showroom. Pace is built from thin layers of glass. The pendant comes in seven stack heights, from one disc to fifteen, in float, translucent or umber glass. As light passes through the layers, it picks up gradients and reflections.
Pipeline, Vine, Orbit and Spotlight: earlier designs, kept current
These four date from 2010 to 2018. A-N-D still makes all of them, and it updated Pipeline in 2026. Pipeline is built as a kit of parts: a slim aluminum bar on 1 mm aircraft cable, thin enough that the bar seems to float, hung level or at an angle, alone or in groups. The update doubled its light output. Vine links steel arcs with a glowing globe at each end, in lengths of three, five, seven or nine. Orbit sets an opalescent globe, the sun in the story, inside a thin wire cage that traces its orbit. Spotlight Volumes pairs two of five spun-aluminum shades, one above and one below. Light goes down and up.
Weight and dimming: two things to settle before you order
We’ve supplied A-N-D to homes in the region. Glass has weight. A large Column segment is over five kilograms, so a long composition needs your contractor to confirm the ceiling first. A-N-D also lists the dimming each fixture accepts, and several collections, including Column, Pebble and Pipeline, come in dim-to-warm. For larger projects, the studio says it’s happy to collaborate on customization, and we can be your starting point for that conversation.
