Pendants
Chroma takes Hand & Eye’s most popular shade shape, slip-cast in earthenware, and gives it a semi-matte satin glaze. Designed by Tom Housden, it’s a large pendant, 350 mm across and 320 mm tall.
The three colours started from nature: sand dunes, straw and raven’s feathers. Hand & Eye developed them with a glaze specialist. Oyster is a nude pink. Mustard is “not too yellow and not too brown”. Liquorice is a black with a hint of green and blue, made by altering the cobalt in the glaze.
Each starts from a white earthenware body for a purer colour. The lip is left unglazed, so a line of white clay shows. Hand & Eye says the three can be used in combination or on their own. The cord comes in nude, black or beige.
